Black Gold Online features a new type of mounted combat never before seen in an MMO. In Black Gold Online, players can build, upgrade and use their own Battle Carriers in open world combat and large-scale organized mounted battles.
Personal Ownership[ | ]
Players will be able to create their very own Battle Carriers. Players will create their very first Battle Carrier as a part of their basic Quest line. From there, they will have freedom to build their own and upgrade them as they choose.
Creating a Battle Carrier requires three main things: resources, knowledge, and rank.
- Manuals – in order to build a Battle Carrier, you must know how to do so. Manuels can be acquired at certain NPCs, or completing accomplishments. They must be studied in order to create a given Battle Carrier
- Copper and Silver Badges – players will need a number of Badges, coming in both Copper and Silver, to create a Battle Carrier. These Badges can be acquired through a number of different ways, including certain quests, open world drops, and NPC merchants.
- Black Gold – some high level Battle Carriers will require Black Gold to create.
- Military Rank – players can acquire Military Rank by committing feats of bravery and heroism in the Military Battlefield. The higher a players rank, the more advanced a Battle Carrier they can create.
Mounted Combat[ | ]
Battle Carriers brings a whole new dynamic to combat, with action-packed and fast-paced mounted combat. Players can summon their Battle Carrier anywhere in the open world and in certain types of battlefields, including the Military Battlefield.
Battle Carriers have their own damage (health bar), fuel needs (stamina) and attacks/abilities. Players can summon them, or press the action key to mount a nearby Battle Carrier.
Once mounted, the player’s controls will switch to Crosshairs, much like a first person shooter. Players can switch at will between third-person, first-person, and sniper perspectives.
For flying Battle Carriers, pressing the “spacebar” will cause ascent and “shift” will cause descent.
Classes[ | ]
Black Gold Online features 100+ different Battle Carriers with unique abilities, with powerful mechs on the side of Isenhorst and mythical beasts on the side of Erlandir. These Battle Carriers all fit into 5 basic classes of Battle Carriers
- Raid – fast and light carriers used for hunting down players on foot
- Assault – powerful armored carriers, deadly against other carriers
- Siege - heavily armored slow carriers, used for attack defensive structures
- Aerial – fast, flying carriers, nimbly lethal against Assault carriers
- Anti-air – specialized carriers with target locking abilities, effective against Aerial
The different types of Battle Carriers for a “Rock, Paper, Scissors” pattern of advantages and weaknesses, making no single Battle Carrier the most powerful and requiring team work in large-scale battles to win.

Each faction has 8 basic types of Battle Carriers, fitting into the 5 classes. Each type has unique abilities, with their own development paths that players can choose to upgrade them along.
